Good News
This is a day of Good News!
Two hours ago I received the news that Hiwa Butimar has had his death sentence overturned by an Iranian court.
Hadi Butimar, Hiwa's brother, phoned me after talking with his sister-in-law, Hiwa's wife.
Hadi is in the process of putting together a thank you to all the countless people who have helped in so many ways.
Hiwa goes before another court soon to decide if he is to be released or serve a further prison sentence for the false charges.
We will keep you informed.
Meanwhile, join in the great joy we all feel for Hiwa and his family.

Hi
I just looked at your blog and found it absolutely inspiring.
Thank goodness there are people in the world like you to raise awareness.
I am more than familiar with the plight of these people as I am working presently with people of Kurdish Iranian origin mainly who are fleeing their countries from persecution.
I was extremely moved by your blog. As a social worker I am aware of the things I cannot do for these people, mainly because they have no access to public funds which makes their elegibility to services limited. For this reason I did the one thing possible which was take the ESOL qualification and set up a free English Language class so that these people can develop their own voice. Thank you again for this wonderful blog I will follow it. Maybe you would like to look at mine.
